Wind:

  • Secure outdoor furniture and decorations before a windy day—your lawn gnomes will thank you!

  • Trim tree branches near your home to prevent unwanted “tree hugs” during a storm.

  • Check that your roof shingles are tight and in good shape; loose shingles love to fly off and cause trouble.

Hail:

  • Park your car in a garage or under a sturdy cover to avoid turning your vehicle into a giant ping-pong ball.

  • Inspect your roof after hailstorms for dents or damage—sometimes hail leaves a calling card.

  • Keep an eye on your windows; hail can be tough on glass, so having storm shutters or impact-resistant windows is a smart move.

Tornadoes:

  • Identify a safe spot in your home—like a basement or an interior room without windows—where you can take shelter quickly.

  • Keep a weather radio or a phone app handy to get timely alerts; it’s like having a meteorologist in your pocket.

  • Assemble an emergency kit with essentials (water, flashlight, first aid), so you’re prepared without needing to “borrow” your neighbor’s flashlight.

Andy Daniels has served his customers for over 30 years. Andy grew up in Cleveland, Mississippi, as the son of a State Farm agent. Andy has been a State Farm agent in Indianola, Mississippi, since 1995 after beginning his insurance career with State Farm Insurance in Yazoo City.

King Museum. Andy is the past president of the Indianola Chamber of Commerce, Indianola Rotary Club, and the Indianola Tourism Commission, and past officer and board member of Indianola Academy. Andy is a 1984 graduate of Cleveland High School and received his business degree from Mississippi College in 1987.
